Try to get a straight weekly price out of most rent to own operators and watch what happens. Most will take your name, your number and your licence details before a single dollar figure appears. The price comes later, over the phone, once you are already halfway in the door.
We think that is backwards. So we built a car payment calculator that shows you everything first. Pick a car on our site, choose a term, and every dollar of the plan is itemised on the screen: the car, our charge, registration, stamp duty, the lot. You do not fill in a form and nobody rings you back with the real price.
This article walks through what the rent to own calculator shows you, line by line, using a real car from our yard at today's prices.
Why we show the numbers before you enquire
Rent to own exists for people the banks have already turned away: rideshare drivers, visa holders, new arrivals, anyone with a thin or bruised credit file. If that is you, you have probably had enough experiences of being strung along and told the price at the end.
We would rather you sit at home, run the numbers on every car we have, and only call us when a figure already works for your budget. It saves you an awkward conversation and it saves us talking to people the numbers were never going to suit. The calculator runs the exact same maths we use internally. There is no separate customer version with the uncomfortable parts removed.
If the whole model is new to you, our step by step guide to renting to own a car in Perth covers the process from first enquiry to picking up the keys.
The six lines that make up your plan
Every quote the calculator builds is the same six ingredients. Here is what each one means.
Vehicle price. The actual purchase price of the car. It is on the screen, not hidden inside a weekly figure you cannot unpick.
Toybrids weekly charge. A flat $82.50 for every week of your term. This is what we earn for carrying the risk a bank will not. It does not scale with the price of the car, so a dearer car does not quietly pay us more.
Security, warranty and establishment. Covers the PPSR security registration and warranty component. It is calculated the way loan interest would be, but capped at $3,000 no matter what the car costs.
GPS tracking. A fixed cost per term: $1,030 for two years, $1,230 for three, $1,530 for four. Until the car is yours it is secured, which is part of what makes the no credit check model possible at all.
WA stamp duty. Calculated with the WA government's own vehicle licence duty method: 2.75 per cent up to $25,000, a sliding scale to $50,000, and 6.5 per cent above that. The calculator applies the formula exactly, so the figure you see is the figure the government charges.
Registration and on-road costs. An estimate per term, replaced with the actual cost once we know it for your car. It is inside the plan, not a bill that turns up later.
Your deposit then comes off the total, and what is left, divided by the weeks in your term, is your weekly payment. That is the whole formula.
A real example: the Camry Hybrid Sport
Here is the 2023 Camry Hybrid Sport currently in our yard, priced at $32,500, over a four year term. These are live figures from the calculator at the time of writing.
| Vehicle price | $32,500.00 |
| Toybrids weekly charge ($82.50 × 208 weeks) | $17,160.00 |
| Registration and on-road costs | $4,400.00 |
| Security, warranty and establishment | $3,000.00 |
| GPS tracking | $1,530.00 |
| WA stamp duty | $1,259.38 |
| Total plan value | $59,849.38 |
| Less deposit | $2,000.00 |
| Balance over 208 weeks | $278.12 a week |
Check that against the car's listing on our homepage and you will see the same $278. The card and the calculator are fed by the same engine, which is the point: there is one set of numbers, and you can see all of it.
How the term length changes the picture
The same Camry across the three terms we offer:
| Term | Weekly | Total plan value |
|---|---|---|
| 2 years | $445.86 | $48,369.38 |
| 3 years | $333.39 | $54,009.38 |
| 4 years | $278.12 | $59,849.38 |
A longer term buys a lower weekly payment and costs more in total. There is no trick that avoids that trade, and the calculator does not try to hide it. It shows both figures side by side so you can pick the term your budget can actually survive. For most people that matters more than the smallest total, because a plan you cannot keep up is worse than a dearer one you can.
The rideshare tick box
If the car is for Uber, DiDi or Bolt, tick one box and the calculator adds the costs a rideshare car carries that a private car does not:
- Third party insurance for a passenger vehicle, about $350 a year
- The annual vehicle inspection WA requires, about $260 a year
- The passenger transport vehicle charge, $127 a year plus a one-off $45

On the four year Camry plan those add up to $2,993 and take the weekly figure from $278.12 to $292.51. Plenty of operators quote a private-use price and let drivers discover these costs at their first inspection. We would rather you budget on the real number from day one. In our experience the drivers who do are the ones who make it to the end of their plan and drive away owning the car. There is more on how the plans fit driving work in our guide to rent to own programs for rideshare drivers.
A car payment calculator without the loan
If you have spent the evening on a bank's car loan calculator or a car finance calculator, you already know the routine. You type in a loan amount, it shows you a repayment, and none of it means anything until the bank actually approves you. For a lot of Perth drivers, that approval never comes.
Our calculator works from the opposite end. There is no application to survive, so the number it shows is not a maybe. It is the actual weekly payment on an actual car in our yard, available to you regardless of what your credit file says. A car repayment calculator tells you what a loan would cost if you can get one. Ours tells you what the car will cost, full stop.
This is the difference people are reaching for when they search for no credit check car finance. A bank cannot lend without checking your file, because the loan is their risk. Our plans work more like a car subscription: the deposit and the weekly payment carry the risk instead, so your credit history never enters the conversation.
What the calculator will not tell you
Deposits are $2,000 on cars up to about $27,000 and $3,000 up to about $40,000. Above that the calculator shows an indicative figure and the final deposit is agreed with us directly. Every deposit is non-refundable, and plans require four weeks notice to end. The full conditions are in our rent to own terms, and we would genuinely rather you read them before signing than after.
Registration figures are estimates until we know the exact cost for your car, and fuel, servicing and your own cover sit outside the plan. Our guide to insuring your car in Perth explains what drivers actually need, especially for rideshare. And the calculator will not tell you whether rent to own is right for you. If a bank will give you a normal car loan at a normal rate, take it. It will cost less overall, and Moneysmart's guide to comparing car loans is the place to check what you would pay. Our plans are for people that option is closed to, which is exactly why there is no credit check on any of our cars.
Questions people ask about the calculator
Are the calculator's numbers the real price?
Yes. It runs the same engine that prices every car on our site. The only figures that can move are the registration estimate, which becomes the actual cost once known, and deposits on cars above $40,000, which are agreed case by case.
Do I have to give my details to see a price?
No. You can price every car we have without telling us who you are. We only hear from you if you choose to enquire.
Why is there a GPS charge?
Until the final payment the car is secured, and tracking is part of how we can hand cars to people no bank will touch without running credit checks. It is a fixed cost per term and it is on the screen like everything else.
Does every car have its own breakdown?
Yes. Each car listed on our homepage links to its own itemised breakdown built from its real purchase price and deposit. If you want the same view for a car we have not listed yet, ask us and we will run it for you.
What happens at the end of the plan?
The car becomes yours. That is the difference between this and an ordinary rental, and our explainer on what rent to own actually involves walks through the whole path from deposit to ownership.
Run your own numbers
Open the car payment calculator, pick a car, choose your term, and tick the rideshare box if it applies. You will have the deposit, the weekly payment and the full itemised total in front of you inside a minute. Or start from the other end and see the cars available right now, because every car on that list links to its own breakdown.
We are in Forrestdale and we serve drivers across Perth from Armadale to the northern suburbs. We would rather have one straight conversation about what you can afford than sign anyone into a plan that falls over, and the Toybrids rent-to-own car payment calculator means that conversation starts with the numbers already on the table.
