Why your visa length is not a barrier
A bank or dealership finance company lends you money over a fixed term. They want your visa to outlast the loan, and they run a credit check to decide. If your visa expires before the loan ends, or you have little Australian credit history, the answer is usually no.
Toybrids works differently. There is no bank loan and no credit check. You pay weekly for the car you are driving, and every payment moves you toward owning it. That is why a visa expiring in 2027 or 2028 is not a barrier.

Two things to know before you apply
- An initial deposit is required, starting from $2,000 depending on the vehicle. This deposit is non-refundable.
- To return the vehicle you must give four full weeks notice, and those four weeks are payable whether or not you keep driving.
We would rather you know this now than find out later. Ask us anything you are unsure about before you commit.

Visa holders: frequently asked questions
›My visa expires in 2028. Can I still apply?
Yes. Your visa end date does not disqualify you. Because this is not a bank loan over a fixed term, we do not need your visa to run for another five or seven years. You need a valid visa with work rights for the period you are driving the car.
›I am an international student. Do I qualify?
Yes. Student visa holders are welcome to apply. You need a valid driver’s licence, work rights, and enough regular income to comfortably cover the weekly payment.
›I am on a bridging visa. Is that a problem?
No. Bridging visa holders are welcome to apply, provided your bridging visa gives you the right to work and drive.
›Do you check my credit history?
No. Toybrids does not require a traditional bank credit check, and no established Australian credit history is needed.
›Is there a deposit, and is it refundable?
Yes, an initial deposit is required, starting from $2,000 depending on the vehicle. This deposit is non-refundable, so please be sure before you commit.
›How much notice do I need to give to return the car?
Four full weeks. That notice period is payable in all cases, whether or not you keep driving during it. If it is not paid, we may take action to recover it.
›What happens if my visa is not extended?
Give four full weeks notice and return the vehicle in good condition. Your payments stop at the end of that period. Because there is no bank loan behind the agreement, you are not left owing years of finance on a car you can no longer drive. Your initial deposit is not refunded.
›Is insurance included?
No. Insurance is organised when you pick the car up, because the premium depends on your driving experience and claims history. You are welcome to bring your own cover and we will look at matching the quote.
›Do I need an Australian driver’s licence?
You need a valid Australian licence, or a recognised overseas licence you are legally permitted to drive on in Western Australia. Talk to us if you are unsure which applies to you.
›Is it only Toyota?
No. We work with reliable Japanese and Korean makes including Toyota, Kia, Hyundai and Mitsubishi, and we can order any car 2021 or newer between $28,000 and $50,000 for you.
